About Us
We have identified a growing contradiction where a rise in the use of disposable vape devices containing reusable Li-ion battery coincides with an increasingly urgent global lithium shortage. Not only is the disposal of these batteries wasteful, but its negative impact on the environment is significant.
Single-Use Vapes: The Hidden Consequence.
The improper disposal of single-use vapes is becoming a growing problem as the popularity of vaping continues to increase. The most popular vape devices are designed to be used once and then thrown away. These are often discarded carelessly, ending up in landfill.
- This not only harms the environment, and causes large fires across landfill sites, but also poses a risk to wildlife and human health.
- Single-use vapes can also be dangerous if not disposed of properly, as the batteries and other components can pose a fire hazard if they come into contact with combustible materials.
- At ReVive power we allow individuals to take responsibility for the disposal of their single-use vapes to help protect the environment.
The lithium supply issue:
- By 2035, the lithium supply gap is projected to be acuteāat least 1.1 million metric tons, or 24% less than demand.
- At the same time, nations with critical raw materials are seeking to leverage their reserves to build domestic battery industries (Boston Consulting Group).
- More than 10 tonnes of lithium is binned

Implementation
We have designed a system for collecting used vapes in the public space for upcycling. Our ReVive collection bin concept places bins in social hot-spots and frequently accessed areas. Look out for the orange ReVive bins!
The batteries extracted from the single-use disposed vape devices are economic to extract and upcycle into a multiuse wireless powerbanks. In the future we will expand this range to encompass more uses of lithium batteries.
An initial rollout will focus on Soho, London. Here, we will deploy 50 bins and accumulate batteries while optimising our recycling and production workflow.
